Julia's Den is a proud family business based in Bournemouth dedicated to providing comfort and care to pregnant women. All our materials are locally sourced and crafted with love right here in the area. Though we're just beginning, our mission is to make every woman feel supported and comfortable on the beautiful journey to motherhood.
MEET THE CREATOR
That is me, Nuria and this is my story. When I was pregnant with my first baby (Julia), I faced a challenge that many expecting mothers encounter: finding a comfortable resting and sleeping position. Normally, I always slept on my belly, but as my pregnancy progressed, it became impossible to do so. I tried various pillows and cushions on the market, but none of them allowed me to comfortably sleep face down. My back and hips were also hurting.
By the time I was pregnant with my second baby (Danny), I decided to take matters into my own hands. I bought some foam and, after several attempts and prototypes, combining different foam hardness and thicknesses, I created the perfect pillow—at least for me. It had a specially crafted cut-out for the belly and a soft, supportive structure that made it possible to rest on my stomach again. It was such a relief!
I could sleep and rest my back and hips on the pillow for a few hours. I could use it also to read a book, watch TV or even better, get my partner to give me a massage nearly every day :). Basically just rest my back and hips for a moment, because my back deserves it!
I named it Julia’s Den, after my daughter Julia, and I believe it could help other women who face the same issue.
